How to Fix a Lot That Crashes

Lots downloaded from the Gallery sometimes crash if:

  • They are 64x64
  • There are too many items
  • The lot is built past the fourth level
It isn't a guarantee that this can be fixed, and you will most likely have to use ctrl+alt+delete several times to restart the game while trying, but if you are willing, here are some tips!
  1. On the Map screen, click Evict.
  2. Select the household.
  3. Click the Check Mark.
  4. Try the following on the Map Screen:
    1. Go to the gallery.
    2. Select a small, less detailed lot.
    3. Place the lot on top of the existing lot.
  5. Try the following on the Build Screen
    • Click Bulldoze.
    • Make sure that there are no buildings that have more than three floors and a roof. If there are buildings like that, delete at least the top levels.
    • Check to see if there are a lot items, on the lot, especially repeating decoration items, such as decorative planks used to make a framework or slabs used on the front of the house. Delete anything you think might be causing the problem. and then try to bulldoze.
    • Delete everything on the lot.
